Thinking of visiting Nusa Lembongan? One of the most common questions we hear is, "When's the best time to come?" The short answer? Almost any time of year.
Like the rest of Bali, Nusa Lembongan has two distinct seasons rather than four. While you'll often hear people talk about the "wet season" and "dry season", the reality is much more relaxed than those names suggest.
If you're picturing endless days of rain, muddy streets and cancelled holidays... don't worry. That's rarely what happens here.
Dry Season (April to October)
This is considered peak season, and for good reason.
During these months you'll usually enjoy:

- Excellent snorkelling visibility
- Consistent surf
- Cooler evenings
Average daytime temperatures sit between 27°C and 31°C, while evenings can feel surprisingly comfortable thanks to the ocean breeze.
This is also when the island is at its busiest, especially during July, August and school holidays.
Wet Season (November to March)
Here's the biggest misconception...
The wet season doesn't usually mean it rains all day.
More often than not, you'll wake up to sunshine, enjoy a beautiful morning, experience a heavy tropical shower for 20 to 60 minutes in the afternoon, then finish the day with another spectacular sunset.
Some days are completely dry.
Other days bring dramatic thunderstorms that pass almost as quickly as they arrive.
In fact, many locals actually love this time of year.
The island feels greener, accommodation prices are often lower, and popular beaches are noticeably quieter.
Sea Conditions
The ocean changes throughout the year.
During the dry season you'll generally find calmer conditions on the western side of the island, making it fantastic for snorkelling and diving.
During the wet season, changing winds can affect visibility and sea conditions, although operators simply adjust locations to find the best spots.
Fast boats continue operating year-round, although crossings may occasionally become bumpier during rough weather.
